Arun’s profile

It’s not entirely clear whether movement precedes art or vice versa, but the strength of the relationship between the two is undeniable. Arun’s a bit of a mover and a little bit from everywhere. He misses the bright yellow tricycle he would take apart and put back together when he lived in Salem, India. He remembers the way his mother insisted on buying him a clarinet instead of a Nintendo when he lived in Buffalo. He loves the courage and the timelessness of the architecture in Boston and the way that it made him feel alive the year he was there and he keeps Milwaukee pressed close to his chest because its special in that way that words can’t ever properly explain.

When he’s not practicing or writing, Arun can be found teaching math at Middle School 313 in the Farragut Housing Projects of Brooklyn, NY; a job he finds both soulful and artful. Arun has a fond penchant towards city life and spends his time examining and analyzing the intricacies of the places he lives. His work with Roses & Hello is a direct extension of this desire.
